Does anyone know about the Personality Plus typology - the Sanguine/Melancholic/Phlegmatic/Choleric characteristics? Does anyone know about the Myers-Briggs profiling?
I was ill with coughs and a head cold, with an overwhelming amount of negative energy that I was trying hard to keep at bay (don't ask.) Hence it feels right to be a bit self-absorbed and do (re-do) a couple of personality tests to reaffirm and reground my position in this world, as well as rediscovering myself. These tests are a notch more reliable than those you found on Facebook, see. (Those tests that gave my personality as "Cute" or "Lovely Lady". Duh!)

The Melancholy Choleric is both a perfectionist and a driver, which may lead him into the law or medicine. They mix decisiveness and determination. Because of the critical nature of the Melancholy they may be very difficult to please. If they become negative about someone or something it will have a tendency to stay with them for a long time.
The Melancholy Choleric blend does not make a good leader because both temperament types tend towards criticism and anger. They find it difficult to say kind words or have patience with stragglers. They believe they are right in most cases and therefore leave everyone else “in the wrong”.
A somewhat stereotyped image of a Melancholy Choleric is the brilliant but hated surgeon who has the drive and critical detailed nature to save the hopeless case but alienates and angers everyone they come in contact with in the process.
The Melancholy Choleric needs people around them of Phlegmatic temperament to put up with their critical tongue. A Phlegmatic Choleric may have the drive and straightforwardness to show the Melancholy Choleric when they are wrong - but that will take patience and determination and a whole lot of “guts”.This temperament blend needs more than anything to develop and embrace an attitude of patience, kindness, joy and peace. Without these they often end up withdrawn and unhappy people.
The Melancholic / Choleric
The melancholic-choleric is also a leader with the potential to accomplish great works. However, where the choleric-melancholic is driven by the challenge and the opportunity, the melancholic-choleric is inspired more by the nobility of the task. The introverted nature of the melancholic, combined with the focused and unempathic nature of the choleric, can result in an individual who is highly motivated by noble ideals (even humanitarian ones), but who prefers to work alone, rather than with people. The melancholic side of both temperament mixtures results in the project being organized, ethical, and high-minded, while the choleric aspect is the driving and demanding force.
If you are melancholic-choleric, you are somewhat less pragmatic (or utilitarian) than a pure choleric, just as persevering and determined, and with a greater emphasis on the ideal. Likely to be motivated by the most noble and demanding of causes, you are capable of founding a humanitarian society, composing a symphony, founding a school, or discovering a cure. You are organized, perfectionist, introspective, driven, and moody (though less so than a pure melancholic). You will be less active than a choleric-melancholic and less extraverted, more internally focused.
But your weaknesses include a tendency to excessive self-criticism and criticism of others, being dismissive or overly judgmental, exhibiting a tendency to self-absorption, and possessing an untrustful and controlling nature. I also went and took another test - the Enneagram Nine-Type Indicator. Only the free, limited test though, one of which is the RHETI. This is my score. The top three score I obtained were in Type 1, Type 3, and Type 4/5.

The Reformer. The principled, idealistic type. Ones are conscientious and ethical, with a strong sense of right and wrong. I scored the least on Type 2.
The Helper. The caring, interpersonal type. Twos are empathetic, sincere, and warm-hearted. They are friendly, generous, and self-sacrificing, but can also be sentimental, flattering, and people-pleasing. They are well-meaning and driven to be close to others, but can slip into doing things for others in order to be needed. They typically have problems with possessiveness and with acknowledging their own needs. At their Best: unselfish and altruistic, they have unconditional love for others.
One more interesting profiling is the Myers-Briggs, adapted here in the Keirsey Temperament Sorter. Quite cool, and if you're unoccupied enough to go look for further descriptions of the temperaments, you'll find quite a lot of information including trivias. I would not post the complete result and description, but it is adequate to state that I was pronounced Rational, with results bordering between INTJ (Introversion, iNtuition, Thinking, Judgment - Mastermind) and INTP (Introversion, iNtuition, Thinking, Perception - Architect). Kinda ambiguous, I have always thought I am more of an Idealist.
When I am doing these tests, it is either that I don't have anything urgent to do, or I am deep in the rut feeling-wise and trying to cheer myself up, recover self-esteem and increase detachment from "the people" with whom attachment and expectations often prove futile. Personality tests always do the job without involving interhuman communication.
